Dear Readers, welcome to 2025!
I hope you are starting off the year healthy and happy--God bless!
Now, let's start the year with our first guest. Please help me welcome Savanna!
Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice when they meet you.
Hi, I’m Savanna Ammons! I’ve lived in Arizona all my life, and when people meet me, they notice that I’m almost always smiling at them. (And that I’m young. That’s often commented upon.)
Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb.
My book is Voices of the Future Volume 4: Stories of Adventure & Imagination.
Discover the Next Generation of Christian Storytellers…
The fourth edition of Voices of the Future weaves together short stories of adventure and imagination in a memorable and heartwarming collection. Experience the next generation’s creativity and vision through these brief tales from rising young creatives.
Within that is my short story, titled Every Second With You.
Cerise’s life runs on a schedule she’s perfected to a science. Work now. Rest later. It’s just how she functions—and a barista handing her a riddle during her lunch break was not in the plan. But when the riddle leads her to the glass-blowing shop she visited with her boyfriend months ago and kicks off a date-site treasure hunt, she’s torn. Does she follow the adventure laid at her feet? Or go home to her predictable, controlled rhythm?

Titus stood there, a pair of too-small plastic glasses attached to a large nose and
mustache atop his real glasses. He peered at her through the fake lenses and raised
one of his thick red eyebrows at her. His hair was drying, but a bead of water ran
down his temple.
“Hello, miss,” he said, dropping his voice an octave lower than usual. “Might I
interest you in a dance?”
“Hm.” She eyed him, her hand to her cheek as if considering. “It would be an
honor, but I seem to have forgotten my ball gown at home, and I only dance with
my boyfriend.”
“A damp t-shirt and jeans will suffice for this particular ball.”
“I’m glad to hear it.” She reached out and pulled the mask off his face. “And
there’s the boyfriend.”
Ask the blog reader a quirky question or two?
Like Cerise, I’ve never been a very spontaneous person. I’m not very good at following a schedule, but I like the feeling of being able to control my circumstances. (I’m working on it.) But this year, I’ve been more adventurous than ever. And though technically they’re planned adventures, there have been times within them that I’ve done things I didn’t plan. I’ve pitched my writing to people I didn’t plan on pitching, talked to people I would’ve been afraid to talk to, and generally have been so thankful to have the opportunities God has placed in my life.
This year, though… I think I’m going to work on finding a bit of a better balance. I’m a bit adventured-out.
Are you spontaneous/adventurous, or do you prefer your life to be more predictable?

Thank you for being a guest, Savanna, and I'm not spontaneous either--a vacation isn't a vacation without a spreadsheet for my itinerary!
Blessings, Christina
